Overview |
The 2009 Nissan Maxima marks a return to the long time Nissan flagship sedan’s roots as a commanding 4-door sports car – a vehicle that is unique in both appearance and driving feel. As a four-door sports car, it blends the sports car performance and sedan sophistication and is equipped with a highly refined award-winning VQ engine delivering 26 miles per gallon on the highway. It is available in four trims available - 3.5 S, 3.5 SV, 3.5 SV w/Sport Package and 3.5 SV w/Premium Package.

Power and Performance |
The 2009 Nissan Maxima is offered as two well-equipped models, Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV. Its 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 is now rated at 290 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque (estimated), increases of 35 horsepower and 9 lb-ft of torque over the 2008 Maxima. The revised engine features a modular engine design with microfinished crank journals and cam lobes, molybdenum coated lightweight pistons, a resin intake collector, digital knock control, six individual coils (one per spark plug) and a cross-flow coolant pattern. Also utilized are a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), a variable induction system, a silent timing chain and electronically controlled throttle. Front Wheel Drive is standard in both S and SV trims. The EPA estimates are 19/26 mpg in city/highway. |
Body and Styling |
With its emotional design, driving excitement and advanced technology, the 2009 Nissan Maxima is a silky, stimulating sports sedan like no other on the road today. 18" x 8.0" aluminum-alloy wheels and P245/45VR18 V-rated all-season tires are standard in S and SV trims. A Dual Panel Moonroof, usually offered in luxury segments, is a new feature.
The Dual Panel Moonroof includes dual power sunshades for both the front and rear glass sections, adding a level of convenience. At the rear, the Maxima has a new 12-LED L-shaped taillight design, with a pair of side marker bulbs for added visibility during night driving.
Its interior features include a warm, inviting super cockpit with flagship craftsmanship, a tailored, refined interior styling, use of premium materials including available metallic-link trim and Eucalyptus wood-tone trim and five-passenger seating with luxury cloth or leather-appointed seats with available sport stitching. Premium leather-appointed seats are available with Premium and Sport Packages. With a lot of other all-new features, it comprises a standard audio system with 8 speakers and AM/FM/6CD/MP3 with auxiliary audio input jack and steering wheel-mounted controls and Bose® premium audio system with 9 speakers.
